Privacy of SCCAPC Information

All information about past or present clients of SCCAPC, including the CAC (Children’s Advocacy Center) program, is strictly confidential and shall be handled in compliance with all applicable federal and state statutes and in accordance with professional ethics and standards. All employees (past and present), consultants, students and volunteers are required to comply with this policy.

 

All employees, students, consultants, and volunteers are required to keep confidential any and all information pertaining to families or others involved with SCCAPC. A violation of the confidentiality policy can result in disciplinary action up to and including dismissal. In addition, persons violating the confidentiality policy may be subject to civil action, criminal penalties or professional discipline.

This policy requires:

  • All employees, students, consultants, and volunteers will not share any case information outside SCCAPC, except as part of work with collaborating agencies such as Protective Services or law enforcement.

  • All employees, students, consultants, and volunteers will not talk about knowledge gained of specific cases that may appear in the public media.

  • All employees, students, consultants, and volunteers will not initiate contact with clients or their family members when encountered in public places or acknowledge familiarity with them as it relates to SCCAPC business.

 

 

Privacy of personal information collected by the SCCAPC

Sanilac County Child Abuse Prevention Council (SCCAPC) is committed to safeguarding the personal information entrusted to us by our donors. We manage your personal information in accordance with all applicable laws. This policy outlines the principles and practices we follow in protecting your personal information.

This policy applies to SCCAPC and to any person providing services on our behalf. A copy of this policy is provided to any donor upon request. We are the sole owners of information collected on this site. We only have access to collect information that you voluntarily give us via our website, email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

We will use your information to respond to you regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request (i.e., to process a donation). Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email, in the future, to tell you about specials, events or changes to this privacy policy. You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time by contacting us via the email address or phone number given on our website.

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline. Wherever we collect sensitive information such as credit card data, that information is transmitted to us in a secure way. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.
