Meet Our Staff
Jen joined the Sanilac County Child Advocacy Center in 2015 after working for the Sanilac County Health Department and the Kid’s Connection. Jen coordinates all the forensic interviews with our local Law Enforcement agencies and medical examinations with our Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners (SANE’s), to ensure that victims alleging sexual/physical abuse are expedited quickly. She also coordinates victim case reviews with the members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team.
PREVENTION EDUCATION SPECIALIST
Mrs. Amy Dumaw came to the Sanilac County Child Abuse Council as a certified teacher with 13 years of teaching experience. She was hired as the Kids Have Rights Educator for Sanilac County in the fall of 2016. Upon being hired, she was trained by the creators of the Kids Have Rights Program in Kent County and is currently trained in the kindergarten through fourth-grade curriculums.
VICTIM ADVOCATE / CASE MANAGER
Melissa joined the CAC in 2015 as our back-up forensic interviewer and in October 2016 became the full-time Victim Advocate for the Center. Her position is funded through the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA), where she provides crisis management to child victims and their non-offending caregivers as well as assists families through the criminal investigation and criminal justice process. She also coordinates access to all treatment services and essential community resources.
